Description

Traditional Jogo do Pau / Staff fighting Cane. Made of Mediterranean Hackberry Tree.

Sanded and varnished with Aprox 95cm.

The Mediterranean Hack-berry Tree is a native Portuguese species, traditionally cut in January in areas of great water in the central, north interior regions.

The choice for these staffs for combat and training of Jogo do Pau, focuses on the balance between its high resistance and flexibility, which makes them the best wood for the practice of our martial art, absorbing much of the energy generated by the hits.

Today this tree is mainly used as an urban garden / city streets, because it has good resistance to pollution, but traditionally it was used for agricultural machinery that was subjected to great efforts, such as ox cars, etc.
